Surreal Nature is Dave Groom's latest solo exhibition, opening at the Tweed Regional Gallery on July 10 and continuing until September 13 2020. The charcoal drawings and oil paintings were done over a tumultuous period, beginning in late 2019, after fires had swept through much of the landscape that surrounds Dave's studio at Beechmont in southeast Queensland. The fires and the gradual recovery of the natural landscape became inspiration for much of the work in this show.
